Greg McLean
Greg McLean (born 1971) is an Australian director, writer, and producer best known for bringing outback horror to international audiences. He broke through in 2005 with his debut feature Wolf Creek, which introduced the chilling Mick Taylor, memorably played by John Jarratt.
McLean expanded his signature mix of suspense and survival with Rogue (2007), which he wrote, directed, and produced. He later returned to his breakout world with Wolf Creek 2 (2013), and helped shape other Australian genre projects as an executive producer, including Red Hill (2010) and Crawlspace (2012).
Beyond film, McLean has extended his storytelling into books and comics, co-authoring novels tied to the Mick Taylor mythology and contributing to graphic narratives such as Dark Axis and Sebastian Hawks – Creature Hunter. In 2016, he released the feature The Darkness and saw the Wolf Creek story continue as a TV series for Australia’s Stan, underscoring his lasting impact on modern horror.
