Greg Yaitanes

Greg Yaitanes (born June 18, 1970, in Wellesley, Massachusetts) is an American director whose work spans some of the most influential television of the modern era. Known for a confident visual style and sharp storytelling, he has become a familiar name to audiences who follow prestige drama and network hits alike.

Yaitanes began making films in his hometown, including an early project titled Salad Bar: The Movie. At 18 he relocated to Los Angeles to study at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, and by his early twenties he had secured his first directing job. His drive became legendary—he once waited hours for a brief meeting with producer Joel Silver, a moment that helped open doors to larger projects.

His TV résumé includes standout work on Damages, Lost, Prison Break, Heroes and Grey’s Anatomy. In 2008, he won an Emmy for his contribution to House, M.D., then one of the world’s most-watched series, cementing his reputation as a top-tier television director.

Beyond Hollywood, Yaitanes is also recognized for his tech foresight as an early angel investor in Twitter, and he has remained connected to the company as a speaker. Active in Greek-American cultural circles, he has supported the Gabby Awards, including directing the 2011 opening on Ellis Island.
