Harriet Slater
Harriet Slater (also credited as Harriet Marston Slater) is an English screen actress born on November 28, 1994, in Leicester, Leicestershire. Raised around a wider family involved in amateur dramatics, she found her way to performance early, joining Leicester’s Little Theatre as a child—an experience she has described as a calming outlet. She later trained professionally at the Guildford School of Acting, graduating with a BA in Acting in 2016.
Slater’s post-drama-school years were rooted in stage work, including her professional debut at Theatre Royal, Plymouth, followed by appearances with the Royal Shakespeare Company and other UK productions. That theatre grounding helped shape a versatile on-screen presence, moving confidently between contemporary roles and heightened period storytelling.
Her television breakthrough came with the DC Universe Batman prequel Pennyworth, where she progressed from a recurring part to a key presence across later seasons. She has since expanded her profile with MGM+’s period drama Belgravia: The Next Chapter as Clara Trenchard, and she was named a 2023 “Bright Young Thing” by Tatler.
On film, Slater’s credits range from indie fantasy Emily and the Magical Journey to studio spectacle in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (as Fran), and genre work including Tarot (as Haley) and The Haunting in Wicker Park. She is also set to appear in the Outlander prequel Outlander: Blood of My Blood as Ellen MacKenzie.
