Himesh Patel

Himesh Patel (also credited as Himesh Jitendra Patel) is a British screen actor born on October 13, 1990, in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, England. He first came to wide attention on British television, building a long-running presence that established him as a relatable, sharp comic-dramatic performer.

Patel’s breakthrough arrived with the BBC soap EastEnders, where he played Tamwar Masood from 2007 to 2016, later returning via archive footage in The Best of EastEnders. He expanded into comedy with Channel 4’s Damned, then stepped onto the global film stage with the feel-good hit Yesterday as aspiring musician Jack Malik.

His profile continued to rise with ambitious projects, including the HBO miniseries Station Eleven, which brought major awards attention, and the ensemble satire Don’t Look Up. Recent credits highlight his range, from Enola Holmes 2 as Dr. Watson to films such as Good Grief (Thomas), Greedy People (Will), and The Assessment (Aaryan), plus roles in The Aeronauts and The Fox.
