Hoyeon

Hoyeon (also credited as Jung Ho-yeon, HoYeon Jung, 정호연, 鄭好娟) is a South Korean screen artist born on June 23, 1994, in Seoul. She first built a public profile as a model before expanding into acting, bringing a distinctive presence and emotional precision to her on-screen work.

Her global breakthrough arrived in 2021 with Netflix’s Squid Game, where she played Kang Sae-byeok (Player 067). The performance quickly became a cultural talking point and positioned her as the series’ standout discovery, earning major industry recognition including a Screen Actors Guild Award and an Emmy nomination.

Following that rise, Hoyeon continued broadening her filmography across projects such as Hope (as Sung-ae), The Hole (as Sandy), Deli Love, In Search of Lost Heart, The Governesses, and the music-visual project Cool With You (as Cupid). She has also appeared as a guest on The Manager, reflecting her growing visibility in Korean entertainment.

With international acclaim and a steadily expanding slate, Hoyeon remains one of the most closely watched Korean actors of her generation.
