Iain Canning
Iain Canning (born July 23, 1979, in Bristol, Gloucestershire, England) is an English film and television producer recognized for steering prestige projects that travel from the UK to global audiences. Working across cinema and series, he has built a reputation for pairing distinctive storytelling with international reach.
He is best known as a producer of The King’s Speech (2010), the acclaimed drama that earned him the Academy Award for Best Picture and major recognition at the BAFTAs, including wins for Best Film and Best British Film. Across his career, Canning has collected multiple nominations from the Oscars and BAFTAs, alongside Emmy recognition for his television work.
On the small screen, Canning served as an executive producer on Top of the Lake, a celebrated series that attracted nominations from the Emmys, BAFTAs, and Golden Globes. The project further cemented his standing as a producer drawn to bold, auteur-led drama.
In 2008, he co-founded See-Saw Films with producing partner Emile Sherman, establishing a company with bases in London and Sydney. Under that banner, Canning continues to develop and produce award-caliber film and television for international audiences.
