Im Hyun-sik
Im Hyun-sik (also credited as Im Hyun-shik or Im Hyeon-sik; Korean: 임현식) is a South Korean screen actor born on December 31, 1945, in Sunchang, Jeollabuk-do. Over a long career in film and television, he became a familiar presence to audiences for his grounded, character-driven performances.
He is widely recognized for a prominent role in the long-running family drama Three Families Under One Roof (1986–1993), a series that helped cement his popularity. Im also built a strong reputation in historical television, appearing in acclaimed period productions such as Hur Jun (1999) and Dae Jang Geum (2003), where his supporting work added weight and texture to ensemble casts.
On the big screen, Im Hyun-sik’s credits range from heartfelt comedy to drama, including 200 Pounds Beauty (as Han-na’s father) and YMCA Baseball Team (as Ha Il-song). He has also appeared in titles like Old Miss Diary, Autumn Sonata, and Bar Legend, often portraying memorable fathers, elders, and everyday figures with warmth and credibility.
