Ioan Gruffudd

Ioan Gruffudd (also credited in other languages as Йоан Гріффідд and یوان گریفید) is a Welsh-American actor born on October 6, 1973, in Llwydcoed, Aberdare, Glamorgan, Wales. Working across the UK, US, and Australian industries, he has built a career defined by polished leading-man roles and grounded character work.

Gruffudd first drew wide attention as Fifth Officer Harold Lowe in Titanic, then became a TV favorite playing the title role in the Hornblower films. Those early successes set the stage for high-profile studio projects, where his calm intensity and classical screen presence translated easily to adventure and drama.

On the big screen, he has portrayed iconic figures and heroes alike—Lancelot in King Arthur, and Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic in Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. His filmography also includes 102 Dalmatians, Warriors, The Gathering, and a notable turn as Prime Minister Tony Blair in W.
