J.R. Villarreal
J.R. Villarreal (also credited as JR Villareal) is an American screen actor born on September 28, 1992, in Houston, Texas. He relocated to Hollywood at a young age and began building a reputation early for high-energy performances and emotional range across film and television.
Villarreal first drew wide attention as Javier in Akeelah and the Bee, appearing alongside KeKe Palmer and Angela Bassett. He followed that breakthrough with a role in the action-drama The Death and Life of Bobby Z as Kit, sharing the screen with Paul Walker and Laurence Fishburne. His film work has since expanded through projects such as Jenni, Spare Parts, Whiteblood, High and Mighty, and the horror-comedy Ghost Team One, where he played Brad.
On television, Villarreal has made notable guest appearances, including Ghost Whisperer as Joseph Borgia, and roles on series such as The Bridge, House M.D., Strong Medicine, Cold Case, Without a Trace, and CSI: Miami. With a steady mix of studio titles and independent work, he continues to be recognized as a dedicated actor committed to the craft.
