Jack Black
Jack Black (born August 28, 1969, in Santa Monica, California) is an American screen actor, comedian, and musician celebrated for high-energy comedy, big-hearted family films, and standout voice performances. Also credited as Thomas Jacob Black, he has earned major industry recognition, including a Children’s and Family Emmy Award, a Grammy win, and multiple Golden Globe nominations.
After building momentum with supporting parts through the 1990s, Black’s profile surged with his scene-stealing turn as Barry Judd in High Fidelity. That breakthrough opened the door to larger studio projects and leading roles, cementing him as a mainstream star with his crowd-pleasing blend of rock-and-roll swagger and comedic timing.
His filmography spans eclectic hits such as King Kong (as Carl Denham) and The Holiday (as Miles Dumont), along with cult-favorite comedy in Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny. Black has also become a sought-after voice actor, including roles in Ice Age and as Bowser in The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
