James Ashcroft
James Ashcroft (born June 12, 1978, in Paraparaumu, New Zealand) is a New Zealand screen artist known primarily for his acting work, with additional experience behind the camera as a director. He has built a career that spans local productions and international projects, earning recognition for grounded performances across genres.
Ashcroft’s film credits include the cult New Zealand horror-comedy Black Sheep, where he appeared as Prebble, as well as roles in studio features such as Catwoman (Janitor) and Walking Tall (Bailiff). He also featured in thrillers like Chaos as an Emergency Medical Technician, demonstrating a steady presence in supporting character parts.
On television, he is noted for Fresh Meat, playing Katene, and for a run of roles in smaller films including Kissy Kissy (Mark), Murmurs (Dave), and Fish Out of Water (The Yuppie). Known in some markets as 제임스 애쉬크로프트 and 詹姆斯·阿什克罗夫特, Ashcroft continues to be associated with versatile, character-driven screen work.
