Jared Leto
Jared Leto (born December 26, 1971, in Bossier City, Louisiana) is an American screen actor and musician known for immersive, transformation-driven performances. He first drew wide attention in the 1990s through television, then quickly expanded into film, building a reputation for intensity and range.
After early movie work and notable supporting turns, Leto’s profile rose with roles in Girl, Interrupted (as Tobias Jacobs) and American Psycho (as Paul Allen). He earned major acclaim for playing Harry Goldfarb in Requiem for a Dream, a performance that helped define his dramatic credentials. He later appeared in titles such as Panic Room (as Junior), Alexander (as Hephaistion), Lord of War (as Vitaly Orlov), Lonely Hearts (as Ray Fernandez), and Mr. Nobody (as Nemo Nobody).
Leto’s career has also included high-profile contemporary projects, while his awards momentum peaked with an Oscar-winning supporting performance in Dallas Buyers Club. Often described as a method-leaning actor, he is known for deep preparation and a selective approach to roles.
Beyond acting, Leto fronts the rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars (also styled as 30 Seconds to Mars), which he formed with his brother Shannon. Under various aliases—including Bartholomew Cubbins—he has maintained a dual identity as both film performer and global music figure.
