Jason Statham
Jason Statham (born July 26, 1967, in Shirebrook, Derbyshire) is an English actor and producer celebrated for hard-edged action and thriller roles. With a screen persona built on grit, speed, and physical precision, he became a defining action lead of the 2000s and 2010s, anchoring a run of global hits that helped make him one of the industry’s most reliable box-office draws.
Before film, Statham’s path was anything but typical. He trained in disciplines including Chinese martial arts, kickboxing, and karate, and he also competed as a diver—representing England at the 1990 Commonwealth Games as part of Britain’s national diving setup. He later moved into modeling work for major fashion campaigns, bringing a distinctive, streetwise presence to print and TV ads.
That real-world background fed directly into his breakout with Guy Ritchie’s British crime successes Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (as Bacon) and Snatch (as Turkish). After early Hollywood roles such as Ghosts of Mars, he cemented stardom with The Transporter as Frank Martin, then doubled down with crowd-pleasers like Crank (Chev), War (Special Agent Jack Crawford), and Death Race (Jensen Ames).
Statham has continued to headline and franchise-hop with ease, balancing sleek professionalism with blunt intensity—qualities that keep his action films consistently in demand worldwide. He is also known internationally under variants of his name, including ჯეისონ სტეითემი and ჯეისონ სტეტჰემი.
