Jeff Goldblum

Jeff Goldblum (also credited as Jeffrey Lynn Goldblum) is an American screen actor and musician, born October 22, 1952, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. With a distinctive mix of wit, intelligence, and offbeat charm, he has become one of Hollywood’s most recognizable presences across blockbuster hits and cult favorites.

Goldblum reached global stardom through some of the defining crowd-pleasers of the 1990s, including Independence Day as David Levinson and The Lost World: Jurassic Park as chaos-theorist Ian Malcolm. He later revisited these worlds in sequel chapters, reinforcing his status as a key face of modern franchise cinema.

Before the blockbuster era, he steadily built a reputation with memorable turns in films such as Nashville and Annie Hall. A major breakthrough came with his transformative lead performance in The Fly, which earned him a Saturn Award and showcased his ability to balance genre thrills with emotional depth.

Equally at home in comedy and ensemble storytelling, Goldblum has continued to surprise audiences in projects like Earth Girls Are Easy, The Player, Cats & Dogs, and Wes Anderson’s The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou as Alistair Hennessey.
