Jemaine Clement

Jemaine Clement (born January 10, 1974, in Wellington, New Zealand) is a screen actor, comedian, musician, and filmmaker whose dry, offbeat style has made him a standout across film, television, and voice work. Known internationally for blending music and comedy with sharp character acting, Clement has built a career that moves easily between indie favorites and major studio hits.

He first gained wide recognition as half of the musical comedy duo Flight of the Conchords with Bret McKenzie, later co-creating the TV series of the same name for the BBC and HBO. The show’s success brought multiple Primetime Emmy nominations and established Clement as a distinctive creative voice both on and off screen.

As an actor, he has appeared in projects ranging from Eagle vs Shark (Jarrod) and Gentlemen Broncos (Ronald Chevalier) to blockbuster fare like Men in Black 3 as Boris the Animal. He also lent his voice to animated features, including Despicable Me as Jerry.

Clement expanded his footprint behind the camera with What We Do in the Shadows, which he co-wrote, co-directed, and co-starred in alongside Taika Waititi, later helping shape its FX television adaptation. His continued work reflects a rare mix of comedic invention and committed character craft.
