Jennifer Connelly

Jennifer Connelly (also credited as Jennifer Lynn Connelly and Jennifer L. Connelly) is an American screen actor born on December 12, 1970, in Cairo, New York. She first entered the spotlight through child modeling, then quickly transitioned to film with her acting debut as Young Deborah in Once Upon a Time in America.

After several years balancing fashion work and screen roles, Connelly committed fully to acting, building a varied early filmography that moved from genre and fantasy to mainstream romance and adventure. Standouts from this period include Labyrinth and The Rocketeer, where her classic leading-lady presence helped define the films’ enduring appeal.

In the late 1990s and 2000s, she earned renewed critical attention with darker, more complex performances, including Dark City and her harrowing turn as Marion Silver in Requiem for a Dream. She reached a career peak playing Alicia Nash in A Beautiful Mind, and continued to headline acclaimed projects such as Blood Diamond, Little Children, and The Day the Earth Stood Still.

Beyond film, Connelly has been active in humanitarian advocacy, serving as an Amnesty International Ambassador for Human Rights Education. She has also remained a prominent figure in fashion and beauty campaigns, representing major luxury and cosmetics brands over the years.
