Jill Talley
Jill Talley (born December 19, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois) is an American screen actress, comedian, and prolific voice performer whose work spans animation, live-action comedy, and television specials. With a sharp comedic sensibility and a knack for character voices, she has become a familiar presence to audiences across generations.
Talley is best known as a core cast member of SpongeBob SquarePants, where she voices Karen Plankton—an iconic role she has continued across franchise projects including SpongeBob’s Truth or Square, SpongeBob SquarePants: Spongebob’s Last Stand, and SpongeBob SquarePants Presents The Tidal Zone. Her animation résumé also includes notable parts such as Sarah Dubois on Adult Swim’s The Boondocks and Rita Loud on The Loud House.
Beyond long-running series work, Talley has contributed memorable performances in titles like Happily N’Ever After (multiple voices), Comic Book: The Movie, The Ladies Man, and Eagleheart: Paradise Rising, showcasing her versatility across formats and tones.
She is married to fellow voice artist Tom Kenny, her SpongeBob SquarePants co-star, and together they remain closely associated with some of modern animation’s most enduring characters.
