Jo Koy
Jo Koy (born Joseph Glenn Herbert on June 2, 1972, in Tacoma, Washington) is a Filipino-American screen artist best known for his high-energy stand-up and personable on-screen presence. Drawing on family life and cultural identity, he has built a mainstream following that bridges comedy stages, specials, and film.
On screen, Koy often appears as himself in concert films and comedy showcases, including Jo Koy: Lights Out and Jo Koy: Don’t Make Him Angry, as well as appearances in specials such as Just for Laughs: The Gala Specials and Best of Stand-Up 2022. His work highlights a performer comfortable in both intimate storytelling and big-room laughs.
Expanding beyond stand-up, Koy has taken on acting roles in features like Haunted Mansion and voice work in Leo as Coach Kimura. He’s also popped up in projects like Kevin Nealon: Now Hear Me Out!, reinforcing his versatility across comedy formats.
