Jodie Whittaker

Jodie Whittaker (also known as Jodie Auckland Whittaker) is an English screen actor born on June 17, 1982, in Skelmanthorpe, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. She has built a reputation for grounded, emotionally direct performances across film and television.

Whittaker first drew major attention with her feature debut in Venus (2006), earning award nominations that marked her as a rising talent. She continued to broaden her range with standout work in genre projects, including the sci‑fi film Attack the Block and the acclaimed Black Mirror episode “The Entire History of You,” demonstrating a knack for sharp, contemporary storytelling.

On television, she became widely recognized as Beth Latimer in Broadchurch (2013–2017), a role that showcased her ability to carry complex drama. She later made global headlines as the Thirteenth Doctor in Doctor Who (2017–2022), bringing fresh energy and warmth to the long-running franchise.

Her film credits also include St Trinian’s and St Trinian’s 2: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold (as Beverly), plus roles such as Rose in White Wedding and Brenda in Perrier’s Bounty, reflecting a career defined by versatility and smart choices.
