Joely Richardson

Joely Richardson (also credited as Joely Kim Richardson; 裘莉·李察遜; جولی ریچاردسون) is an English screen actress born on January 9, 1965, in Marylebone, London. Standing 178 cm (5'10"), she is known for bringing a poised intensity to both period drama and modern genre storytelling.

Richardson gained wide recognition on television for playing Queen Catherine Parr in Showtime’s The Tudors and for her acclaimed run as Julia McNamara on the drama series Nip/Tuck. Across her career, she has moved easily between leading and ensemble roles, often anchoring stories with emotional clarity and understated authority.

Her film work spans mainstream hits and cult favorites, including 101 Dalmatians as Anita, the sci‑fi horror Event Horizon as Starck, and the historical epic The Patriot as Charlotte Selton.
