John C. Reilly

John C. Reilly (born May 24, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois) is an American screen actor celebrated for slipping effortlessly between grounded character work and big studio comedy. Over a career spanning decades, he has built a reputation as a versatile performer who can anchor an ensemble or quietly steal scenes.

Reilly first drew wider attention in early high-profile films such as Days of Thunder, then became a frequent presence in acclaimed dramas, including Paul Thomas Anderson’s work—most notably Magnolia, where he played Officer Jim Kurring. He also appeared in major titles like The Hours as Dan Brown and earned awards-season recognition for his Oscar-nominated turn as Amos Hart in the musical Chicago.

In the 2000s, Reilly expanded his pop-culture footprint through comedies, from Talladega Nights to leading roles in Walk Hard and Step Brothers. He has also embraced offbeat projects and voice acting, including starring as the title character in Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph films.

Beyond film, Reilly has remained active on television and stage, and he continues to explore music performance as well. Internationally, he is also known as 约翰·C·赖利, ジョン・C・ライリー, and جون ك. رايلي.
