John Cena

John Cena (born April 23, 1977, in West Newbury, Massachusetts) is an American screen artist and pop-culture powerhouse who first became a global name through World Wrestling Entertainment. After relocating to California in 1998 to chase bodybuilding, he shifted into pro wrestling, broke out on the independent scene, and signed with WWE in 2001—building a career that defined the company’s modern era.

Debuting on WWE television in 2002, Cena evolved from a sharp-tongued rapper persona into the promotion’s enduring heroic face, headlining its biggest events and collecting a company-recognized 17 world championship reigns. He officially closed his in-ring run with his final match on December 13, 2025, at Saturday Night’s Main Event XLII.

Cena parlayed that fame into a successful acting career, starting with The Marine and expanding into studio comedies and action franchises. His filmography includes The Independent, Ready to Rumble, and the upcoming Jackpot!, while his on-screen persona reached new heights with his scene-stealing turn as Peacemaker in DC’s The Suicide Squad and its spin-off series.

Beyond the ring and the camera, Cena has also released music and is widely respected for his philanthropy—especially his record-setting work granting wishes through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
