John Einar Hagen

John Einar Hagen is a Norwegian film producer recognized for helping shape contemporary genre filmmaking in Norway. He is also a founding member of the influential film magazine Montages, reflecting a long-standing engagement with film culture beyond the set.

Educated in media studies and pedagogy, Hagen entered the industry in the mid-2010s and quickly built momentum as a producer with an eye for ambitious, audience-driven storytelling. His projects are often associated with polished craft, strong pacing, and a commitment to cinematic scale.

Among his best-known credits are the disaster thriller The Tunnel (2019), the wartime drama Narvik: Hitler’s First Defeat (2022), and the horror title Polaroid (2019). Across these varied genres, Hagen has developed a reputation for delivering suspense and high production values.
