John Malkovich
John Malkovich (also credited as John Gavin Malkovich) is an American screen and stage actor born on December 9, 1953, in Christopher, Illinois. Celebrated for his precise, unpredictable presence, he has earned major industry recognition, including a Primetime Emmy Award and multiple nominations across the Oscars, BAFTA, SAG, and Golden Globes.
Malkovich’s foundation was theater. He emerged in Chicago as a founding member of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company before bringing acclaimed productions to New York. His early career expanded quickly from landmark stage work to Broadway, alongside notable turns as an actor and director that showcased his command of both performance and craft.
On film, Malkovich became a defining character actor of his generation, receiving Academy Award nominations for Places in the Heart and In the Line of Fire.
