John Weber

John Weber is a Canadian screen industry executive and producer known for steering large-scale, internationally successful television drama. As an executive producer, he has been credited across more than 350 hours of acclaimed series, including Vikings, The Tudors, Reign, and The Borgias.

Weber began working in film and television in 1995, gaining experience across a broad range of feature and TV productions. In 1999 he joined Dufferin Gate Productions, later taking a controlling stake in the company and ultimately overseeing its sale in 2007. Building on that momentum, he launched the Canadian production banner Take 5 Productions in 2009.

Throughout his career, Weber has been closely associated with structuring and financing ambitious international co-productions, partnering with major studios and distributors. Under his leadership, Take 5 developed a reputation as a top-tier independent producer in Canada, backed by industry recognition that includes an Emmy Award and six consecutive Canadian Screen Awards (formerly the Gemini Awards).

Beyond producing, Weber brings a strong business foundation as a Certified Professional Accountant with an Economics degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. He also contributes to the wider industry as a board member of FilmOntario.
