Jon Bernthal
Jon Bernthal (born September 20, 1976, in Washington, D.C.) is an American actor known for intense, grounded performances across television and film. He first broke through to mainstream audiences as Shane Walsh on AMC’s The Walking Dead, a role that helped establish his reputation for playing volatile, deeply human characters.
Bernthal’s profile rose further with his portrayal of Frank Castle, a.k.a. The Punisher, within Marvel’s interconnected TV universe—appearing in Daredevil, headlining The Punisher, and returning in Daredevil: Born Again. He also earned major acclaim for his recurring guest work as Michael Berzatto on The Bear, winning a Primetime Emmy Award.
