Jon Spaihts
Jon Spaihts (also credited as Jonathan Spaihts) is an American screenwriter and author born on February 4, 1970, in New York City. Known for ambitious, idea-driven storytelling, he has become a notable voice in modern science fiction and big-scale studio filmmaking.
Spaihts is widely recognized for co-writing Denis Villeneuve’s adaptations of Frank Herbert’s classic novel, Dune (2021) and Dune: Part Two (2024). His work on Dune earned major awards attention, including an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay, highlighting his skill at translating dense literary worlds to the screen.
Beyond Arrakis, Spaihts has contributed to several high-profile films, including the screenplays for Prometheus (2012), Passengers (2016), and Marvel’s Doctor Strange (2016). He also appears in the documentary feature The Furious Gods: Making Prometheus, and is credited with a voice role as the Autodoc in Passengers.
