Josh Brolin

Josh Brolin (also credited as Josh J. Brolin, Josh James Brolin, and Joshua Brolin) is an American screen actor born on February 12, 1968, in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, California. The son of actor James Brolin, he first broke through as a teen with the adventure hit The Goonies, establishing an early reputation for grounded, charismatic performances.

After a quieter stretch, Brolin’s career roared back in the late 2000s, highlighted by his work in No Country for Old Men. He earned an Academy Award nomination for portraying Dan White in Milk, a role that showcased his ability to bring complexity to real-life figures.

Since then, Brolin has moved fluidly between character-driven dramas and mainstream spectacles, taking on parts in W. as George W. Bush and appearing in titles such as Flirting with Disaster, Mimic, Planet Terror, and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (as Dwight). He also became a global pop-culture presence as Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and as Cable in Deadpool 2.

Brolin’s recent years include notable collaborations with Denis Villeneuve, playing Gurney Halleck in Dune and Dune: Part Two, reinforcing his status as a versatile leading man and formidable supporting actor.
