Josh Greenbaum
Josh Greenbaum (born February 15, 1979, in Saratoga Springs, New York) is an American director, screenwriter, and producer known for sharp, character-driven comedy and award-winning documentary storytelling. He is also credited internationally under the name Джош Гринбаум.
Greenbaum first drew wide attention with the feature documentary The Short Game, which won the SXSW Audience Award and was acquired by Netflix as the platform began building its Originals film slate. He followed with Becoming Bond, a documentary centered on George Lazenby that earned another SXSW Audience Award (Visions category), and Too Funny to Fail, a well-regarded look back at The Dana Carvey Show.
On television, he created, directed, and executive produced Behind the Mask, a project that helped secure Hulu’s first Emmy nomination. Across his work, Greenbaum has collected major honors including an Emmy, an MTV Movie Award, and a CINE Golden Eagle.
Expanding into narrative features, he made his fiction debut with Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar. In 2024, he directed Netflix’s Will & Harper, a documentary recognized with a Peabody Award.
