Joshua Mikel

Joshua Mikel (also credited as Josh Mikel; Korean: 조슈아 마이켈) is an American actor from Conyers, Georgia, born January 27, 1984. Based in Atlanta, he’s built a screen career around vivid supporting turns across film and television, including Renfield (Phil), The Dirt (Drug Dealer), Cell (Raggedy Man), and Term Life (Carny).

Before focusing fully on acting, Mikel trained at Florida State University, studying theatre and creative writing. While there, he collaborated with the university’s noted film program, appearing in numerous student productions and contributing behind the scenes as a storyboard artist—experience that helped shape his grounded, character-forward approach on camera.

His creative life extends beyond acting. Mikel toured extensively as a founding member and drummer of the indie rock band Look Mexico, then returned to Georgia in 2010 to pursue film and TV work. He is also a published playwright, recognized for youth-oriented theatre such as The Monster Hunters and Good Good Trouble on Bad Bad Island, and has directed and animated music videos for artists including Against Me!, Waxahatchee, Jake Bugg, Neon Trees, and American Authors.
