Justin Theroux
Justin Theroux (also credited as Justin Paul Theroux) is an American screen actor and filmmaker born on August 10, 1971, in Washington, D.C. Known for sharp, offbeat character work, he broke out on the big screen in late-1990s and early-2000s cinema, including American Psycho (as Timothy Bryce) and studio fare like Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle (as Seamus O’Grady).
Theroux is especially associated with director David Lynch, delivering memorable turns in the surreal mystery Mulholland Drive (as Adam) and the unnerving Inland Empire (as Devon Berk / Billy Side). His filmography also spans comedies and thrillers, with credits such as Duplex (as Coop) and Miami Vice (as Det. Larry Zito), underscoring his range across genres.
Beyond acting, Theroux has built a parallel career behind the camera. He has contributed as a screenwriter on major Hollywood projects and stepped into directing with the romantic comedy Dedication. On television, he earned wide acclaim leading HBO’s The Leftovers as Kevin Garvey, later headlining series like Maniac and The Mosquito Coast, while continuing to appear in high-profile films.
