Kieran Culkin

Kieran Culkin (born September 30, 1982, in New York City) is an American actor celebrated for bringing sharp-edged, often prickly characters to life with surprising warmth. Moving fluidly between film, television, and theatre, he has built a reputation for performances that balance bite, humor, and vulnerability—earning major industry recognition along the way, including an Academy Award, BAFTA, Emmy, and multiple Golden Globes.

Culkin started acting young, first in off-Broadway productions before stepping into movies as a child. Many viewers first remember him as Fuller in Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, later appearing in films such as Father of the Bride Part II, The Cider House Rules, She’s All That, and Music of the Heart. His early-career momentum expanded with a standout turn as a caustic teen in Igby Goes Down.

After a period away from the screen, Culkin returned with scene-stealing energy in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. He reached a new peak in popularity as Roman Roy on HBO’s Succession (2018–2023), a role that helped cement his modern legacy.

In 2024, he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain, playing a grieving cousin with raw, disarming honesty. He also continues to work in voice acting and on stage, including high-profile productions in London’s West End and on Broadway.
