Kit Harington
Kit Harington (born December 26, 1986, in Worcester, Worcestershire, England) is an English screen and stage actor who rose to global recognition as Jon Snow in HBO’s Game of Thrones (2011–2019). The role made him one of modern TV’s defining faces and earned major awards attention, including a Golden Globe nomination and multiple Emmy and Critics’ Choice nominations.
Trained at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, Harington first broke through in theatre, debuting professionally in 2009 as Albert Narracott in the West End hit War Horse. He has continued to balance screen work with high-profile stage performances, returning to the West End in productions such as Doctor Faustus, True West, and a celebrated revival of Shakespeare’s Henry V, later captured in National Theatre Live: Henry V.
On television, he expanded his range by developing, producing, and starring in the BBC historical drama Gunpowder as Robert Catesby, alongside appearances in anthology and prestige series including Modern Love, Extrapolations, and Industry.
Harington’s film credits include Pompeii and Marvel’s Eternals, where he plays Dane Whitman, plus voice work as Eret in How to Train Your Dragon 2. He has also appeared in genre titles like Silent Hill: Revelation 3D and the seasonal drama A Ghost Story for Christmas: Lot No. 249.
