Kosonen’s path to acting began with arts-focused studies at Kallio Upper Secondary School of Performing Arts, followed by training at the Lahti Folk High School. She later attended the Theatre Academy Helsinki, graduating in 2009 with a Master of Theatre Arts—an academic foundation that helped shape her range across drama, thriller, and dark comedy.

Her film work includes roles in Princess (as Christina von Heyroth), The Year of the Wolf (Sari Karaslahti), Body of Water (Julia), Purge (Ingel), Gloriously Wasted (Tiina), Things We Do for Love (Ansa), and Before We Forget (Kathrine). She is also widely recognized for appearances in features such as Jade Warrior and Dogs Don’t Wear Pants, as well as international TV visibility through the Norwegian HBO series Beforeigners.

Off screen, Kosonen is married to Finnish film director Antti J. Jokinen, and continues to balance mainstream projects with distinctive, character-driven storytelling.
