Laia Costa
Laia Costa (also credited as Лайа Коста, Laya Kosta, and 라이아 코스타) is a Spanish screen actress born on February 18, 1985, in Barcelona, Catalunya. After early television work in Spain, she steadily built a reputation for emotionally precise performances and an adventurous choice of international projects.
Her global breakthrough came with the German thriller Victoria (2015), famously filmed in a single continuous take, where she carried the film as its title character. The role brought major recognition, including a German Film Award for Best Actress—making her the first non-German performer to win the “Lola”—and a BAFTA Rising Star nomination.
Costa expanded her range across romance, drama, and genre cinema, appearing in films such as Newness, Only You, Piercing, Duck Butter, and Life Itself. On television, she has featured in series including Foodie Love, Devils, and the anthology Soulmates.
In Spain, she earned standout acclaim for her award-winning turn as Amaia in Lullaby (2022), followed by notable work in Un amor (as Nat) and roles in projects like The Teacher Who Promised the Sea and The Wheel of Time, where she played Moghedien.
