LaMonica Garrett

LaMonica Garrett (born May 23, 1975, in San Francisco, California) is an American screen actor whose career spans action drama, genre television, and film. Before focusing on acting, he competed as a professional Slamball player—an athletic background that helped shape his commanding on-screen presence.

Garrett gained wide recognition as Deputy Sheriff Cane on FX’s Sons of Anarchy (2011–2014), then expanded his profile as Mike Ritter on Designated Survivor across ABC and Netflix (2016–2018). He became a standout in superhero storytelling as Mar Novu—the Monitor and Anti-Monitor—across the CW’s Arrowverse (2018–2020), and voiced John in Primal (2019).

In recent years, he has continued to build momentum with roles in Paramount+ series, including Thomas in 1883 (2021–2022) and Tucker in Special Ops: Lioness (2023). His film work includes credits such as Clemency (Major Logan Cartwright) and Daddy’s Home (Marco), along with titles like XOXO and Be Somebody.
