Lee Charles

Lee Charles (born December 14, 1975, in Birkenhead, Wirral, England) is a British screen artist known for bringing real-world combat credibility to action cinema. Inspired early by a Bruce Lee film, he began martial-arts training at just six years old, starting with Shotokan karate and building a foundation that would later shape his on-screen persona.

Before fighting became his calling, Charles was a standout athlete in football, competing with clubs including Everton and Tranmere and later signing with Wrexham. An injury ended that professional path, and he doubled down on martial arts—broadening his training across multiple disciplines and rising to the top of the sport as a six-time World Kickboxing Champion.

In 2005 he relocated to the United States to pursue Hollywood, where a pivotal meeting in West Hollywood connected him with legendary kickboxer and choreographer Benny “The Jet” Urquidez. Through that mentorship, Charles trained at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, developing acting and stunt skills and joining Urquidez’s stunt team.

Since debuting on screen in 2008, Charles has appeared in hard-hitting genre titles such as The Marine 6: Close Quarters (John), Final Score (Andrei), One Shot (Dhelkor), Green Street 3: Never Back Down, and Never Back Down: Revolt (Vanko).
