Luke Evans

Luke Evans (also credited as Luke George Evans) is a Welsh actor born on April 15, 1979, in Pontypool, Wales, UK. He first built his reputation on stage, becoming a familiar presence in London’s West End through major productions including Rent, Miss Saigon, and Piaf.

Evans transitioned to screen work with a high-profile breakthrough in the 2010 remake of Clash of the Titans, where he played Apollo. He quickly became associated with muscular genre filmmaking, taking on roles in Immortals as Zeus and the period mystery-thriller The Raven as Detective Fields, while also appearing in films such as Tamara Drewe and Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll.

As his international profile rose, Evans balanced blockbuster visibility with character-driven parts. He headlined the gothic origin tale Dracula Untold as Vlad Tepes/Dracula and continued to expand his range with projects like 5lbs of Pressure (as Adam) and Ding Dong (as Gareth), reinforcing his versatility across action, drama, and thriller storytelling.
