Luke Grimes
Luke Grimes (also credited as Luke Timothy Grimes) is an American screen actor and musician born on January 21, 1984, in Dayton, Ohio. Raised in a Pentecostal household as the son of a pastor, he graduated from Dayton Christian High School before relocating to New York City to train at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Grimes built early momentum with indie and genre titles such as All the Boys Love Mandy Lane (as Jake), War Eagle, Arkansas (as Enoch), and Shit Year (as Harvey West). He expanded his profile on television with ABC’s Brothers & Sisters, then appeared in the FX pilot-turned-TV movie Outlaw Country as cowboy Eli Larken, and in the Liam Neeson thriller Taken 2 as Jamie.
On the big screen, Grimes portrayed Navy SEAL Marc Alan Lee in American Sniper, and reached global audiences as Elliot Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey and its sequels. From 2018 to 2024, he became a signature presence on Paramount Network’s Yellowstone, playing Kayce Dutton.
Off camera, he married Brazilian model Bianca Rodrigues Grimes in 2018; they welcomed a son in 2024 and have lived in Montana’s Bitterroot Valley since 2020. As a recording artist, he released “Burn—Live From Nashville” in early 2024, followed by his self-titled debut album Luke Grimes.
