Maika Monroe

Maika Monroe (born Dillon Monroe Buckley on May 29, 1993, in Santa Barbara, California) is an American screen actor known for turning quiet intensity into magnetic on-screen presence. Also credited as Maika Buckley, Dillon Monroe Buckley, and Dillon Buckley, she has built a career that moves fluidly between indie drama, mainstream action, and modern genre cinema.

Monroe made her feature debut in the drama At Any Price (2012) as Cadence Farrow, followed by roles such as Mandy in Labor Day. Her breakout arrived in 2014 with two defining performances: Anna Peterson in the thriller The Guest and Jay Height in the landmark horror film It Follows, a role she later revisited in They Follow. Those projects helped cement her reputation as a standout in contemporary horror.

Expanding beyond scares, she appeared in the action spectacle Independence Day: Resurgence (2016) and continued to headline tense, character-driven stories, including Bokeh (as Jenai) and Significant Other (as Ruth). Her later work includes acclaimed thrillers and high-profile genre entries, underscoring her status as a reliable lead for suspense and psychological drama.
