Marc Maron
Marc Maron (born September 27, 1963, in Jersey City, New Jersey) is an American screen artist best known for acting, while also building a major profile as a stand-up comedian and influential podcast host. His work blends sharp cultural observation with a candid, confessional style that has helped him stand out across TV, film, and audio.
Before becoming a familiar face on screen, Maron became a prominent voice in politically minded talk programming. He hosted The Marc Maron Show and co-hosted Morning Sedition and Breakroom Live, projects associated with Air America Media. He also stepped into late-night comedy television as the host of Comedy Central’s Short Attention Span Theater, taking over the role previously held by Jon Stewart.
Maron’s mainstream visibility grew through frequent late-night appearances, including many visits with David Letterman and a record-setting run on Late Night with Conan O’Brien. He also became a regular on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn and briefly hosted VH1’s U.S. version of Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
As an actor, he’s recognized for credits such as DC League of Super-Pets (voice of Lex Luthor), The Order, and Sleepwalk with Me, alongside comedy specials like Marc Maron: From Bleak to Dark.
