Marc Webb

Marc Webb (born August 31, 1974, in Bloomington, Indiana) is an American director whose career bridges sleek music-video craft and character-driven feature filmmaking. After building a reputation behind the camera in the music world, he brought that visual precision to Hollywood with a confident jump to features.

Webb’s breakout arrived with the offbeat romantic comedy 500 Days of Summer (2009), a modern relationship story that showcased his knack for tone, rhythm, and emotional detail. He later stepped into blockbuster territory by directing The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014), entries that Marvel Studios later nicknamed the “Webb-Verse” in 2021, cementing his place in Spider-Man screen history.

Beyond superheroes, Webb has explored more intimate dramas, including Gifted and The Only Living Boy in New York (both 2017), balancing warmth and tension in grounded, human-scale stories. He has also remained a visible presence in Spider-Man-related specials and behind-the-scenes features, appearing as himself in multiple franchise documentaries and premiere programs.

Continuing to move between studio spectacle and personal storytelling, Webb is set to direct Disney’s live-action Snow White (2025), extending a filmography defined by versatility and a strong visual signature.
