Margaret Qualley
Margaret Qualley (born October 23, 1994, in Kalispell, Montana) is an American screen actress also credited as Sarah Margaret Qualley. The daughter of actress Andie MacDowell, she first trained seriously in ballet—an early discipline that later informed her physical, character-driven performances on screen.
Qualley made her film debut in the 2013 coming-of-age drama Palo Alto as Raquel, then broke through with a key supporting role on HBO’s The Leftovers (2014–2017). Her profile continued to rise with varied projects including The Nice Guys, Death Note (as Mia Sutton), and a role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, alongside performance work connected to the video game Death Stranding.
Critics and awards bodies took particular notice of her TV work: portraying Ann Reinking in FX’s Fosse/Verdon and leading Netflix’s Maid, both of which brought Primetime Emmy nominations. In recent years she has expanded her filmography with standout turns in Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things (as Felicity) and Kinds of Kindness (multiple roles), while earning Golden Globe attention for the body-horror feature The Substance (as Sue).
