Mark Hedges
Mark Hedges (also credited as Марк Хеджес) is a British screen artist best known for directing, with a parallel reputation in UK media. Born on February 24, 1964, in Redruth, Cornwall, he spent much of his childhood near Chipping Norton, experiences that later informed his perspective on rural life and storytelling.
Hedges is widely recognized as a journalist and as the editor of Country Life, a long-running British magazine published by TI Media. In that role, he has helped shape contemporary coverage of countryside culture, heritage, and the people who live and work beyond the city.
Before entering publishing, he studied geology at Durham University—an academic background that adds an unusual dimension to his career, pairing scientific training with editorial craft. Today, Mark Hedges remains a notable British creative figure whose work bridges directing and journalism.
