Mark Wahlberg

Mark Wahlberg (also known as Marky Mark and Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg) is an American screen artist born on June 5, 1971, in Boston, Massachusetts. After early fame in 1990s hip-hop, he successfully reinvented himself as a versatile leading man across drama, action, and comedy, earning major industry recognition including a BAFTA win and multiple Oscar, Golden Globe, and Emmy nominations.

Wahlberg’s first on-screen appearance came in Renaissance Man (1994), followed by a breakout starring turn in Fear as David McCall. Critical acclaim surged with Boogie Nights, where he played Eddie Adams/Dirk Diggler, and he later built momentum with high-profile films such as The Perfect Storm (Bobby Shatford) and Planet of the Apes (Captain Leo Davidson).

In The Departed, his sharp performance as Dignam brought an Academy Award nomination, while roles like Tommy Corn in I ♥ Huckabees and Joseph Grusinsky in We Own the Night highlighted his range.
