Matt Damon
Matt Damon (also known as Matthew Paige Damon) is an American screen artist celebrated for his range as an actor, as well as his work behind the camera as a producer and screenwriter. Born on October 8, 1970, in Boston, Massachusetts, he has been recognized as a major box-office draw and ranks among the most commercially successful film actors of his era.
Damon’s early screen work dates to the late 1980s, but his breakout arrived in 1997 with Good Will Hunting, which he co-wrote with Ben Affleck and starred in as Will Hunting. The film earned the duo an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and helped establish Damon as a leading man with both dramatic credibility and mainstream appeal.
His filmography spans prestige dramas and crowd-pleasing franchises, including Saving Private Ryan (Private Ryan), The Talented Mr. Ripley (Tom Ripley), Syriana (Bryan Woodman), and The Good Shepherd (Edward Bell Wilson). He is also widely known as Linus Caldwell in Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve, and Ocean’s Thirteen.
