Matthew Willig

Matthew Willig (born January 21, 1969, in La Mirada, California) is an American actor and former professional football player whose imposing 6-foot-9 frame helped define his on-screen presence. Before stepping in front of the camera, Willig built a high-profile athletic career as an offensive tackle in the National Football League.

Transitioning from the gridiron to entertainment, he became a recognizable screen performer often cast for physically commanding roles. His work spans action, thriller, and comedy projects, where his stature and intensity make him a natural fit for tough enforcers, heavies, and larger-than-life characters.

Among Willig’s notable credits are Hydra (Gunner), Tales of an Ancient Empire (Giant Iberian), Christmas in Compton (Charlie), The Employer (Mike Drake), Stretch (Boris), Keep Watching (The Terror), Wild Card (Kinlaw), and the hit comedy We’re the Millers (One-Eye). Together, they highlight a career built on memorable character work across genres.
