Max Minghella

Max Minghella (also credited as Max Giorgio Choa Minghella) is an English screen actor born on September 16, 1985, in Hampstead, London. Known for intelligent, understated performances, he has built a career moving fluidly between prestige dramas, studio hits, and independent films.

Minghella’s early work includes a small uncredited appearance in Cold Mountain, followed by notable roles in Syriana as Robby Barnes and Art School Confidential as Jerome. He continued to expand his range with parts in Bee Season, Agora (as Davus), and Brief Interviews with Hideous Men, establishing a reputation for playing complex, often morally shaded characters.

Wider recognition came with The Social Network, where he portrayed Divya Narendra, and with political thriller The Ides of March as Ben Harpen. On television, Minghella reached a global audience as Nick Blaine in The Handmaid’s Tale (2017–2025), a performance that earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination and cemented his status as a standout presence in modern serialized drama.
