Mehcad Brooks

Mehcad Brooks (also credited as Μεχκάντ Μπρουκς and مهکاد بروکس) is an American screen actor and former fashion model, born on October 25, 1980, in Austin, Texas. Known for charismatic, grounded performances across TV and film, Brooks has built a career that moves easily between drama, action, and character-driven ensemble work.

On television, he is widely recognized for playing NYPD Detective Jalen Shaw on NBC’s Law & Order (from 2022), as well as James “Jimmy” Olsen/Guardian on Supergirl. He has also appeared in prominent series roles, including Terrance “TK” King on Necessary Roughness, “Eggs” Benedict Talley on HBO’s True Blood, Jerome on The Game, and Matthew Applewhite on season two of Desperate Housewives.

Brooks’ film work includes In the Valley of Elah as Specialist Ennis Long, Glory Road as Harry Flournoy, and Just Wright as Angelo Bembrey. His credits also span genre titles such as Creature, Adulterers, and the upcoming Mortal Kombat II, where he steps into the role of Jax.
