Michael Gandolfini
Michael Gandolfini (born May 10, 1999, in New York City) is an American screen actor who has steadily built a varied film and TV résumé. He first drew wide attention with a small but notable appearance in Ocean’s Eight (2018), then continued expanding his range across indie dramas and studio projects.
Born to actor James Gandolfini and Marcy Wudarski, he grew up with Italian, Polish, and Slovak roots, and was encouraged to consider paths beyond acting while he was young. After James Gandolfini’s death in 2013, Michael ultimately chose to pursue performance on his own terms, enrolling at New York University and beginning the audition grind in earnest.
Early on, he appeared on HBO’s The Deuce, and his breakthrough arrived with The Many Saints of Newark, where he portrayed teenage Tony Soprano—an especially scrutinized role given his father’s iconic work on The Sopranos. He has since added credits including Cat Person, Landscape with Invisible Hand, The Independent, and Bob Marley: One Love (as Howard Bloom).
Gandolfini has also been cast in Warfare as Lt. MacDonald, signaling continued momentum in high-profile ensemble storytelling. Off-screen, he has spoken publicly about maintaining sobriety since 2017.
